The cautious oliver (Ashton Kutcher) and the flamboyant Emily (Amanda Peet) meet on a flight from Los Angeles to New York. Two people see admire, but be in after brief get along, walk respectively however on his life orbit, only the shadow that cannot leave pair of each other. After meeting for the first time, they met and separated many times in different cities at different times. Two people become the good friend that does not have a word not to talk, between delicate concern, always as if by accident ground and love brush body and pass. After seven years of on-again, off-again dating, they meet again, and oliver finally realizes that Emily is the girl he's really looking for, but that Emily is engaged. Will they still have a simple friendship? Will the lovers get married or will they be separated again?
