Adapted from the famous classic novel, the story describes a little girl, how to overcome all difficulties and all kinds of tests, for their own love, identity and exclusive place. Set in the late 19th century, orphan Annie (Amybeth McNulty) is placed in the home of a brother and sister on prince Edward island after a childhood of abuse at an orphanage and a stranger's home. As the years go by, Anne, only 13 years old, with her unique courage, wisdom and rich imagination, brings change to the lives of marilla kaspert (Geraldine James) and Matthew kaspert (R.H. Thomson) and even the whole town. Anne's experience will lead to reflections on enduring issues such as self-identity, feminism, bullying and prejudice.
