The down-and-out Eddie morley (Bradley Cooper) is a jobless, uninspired writer. A long-lost brother-in-law gave him NZT, an experimental drug. After taking it once, Eddie found that he was energetic, clear in thinking and quick in action. He could even recombine and sort out some details and information which were not easy to be noticed at ordinary times and draw inferences in an instant. Wait him to look for brother-in-law to discover he has been murdered again however, the room is in a mess, following is a flock of killer chase after kill. After a narrow escape, addie finally discovered that the new drug, called NZT, gives 100 percent of your brain power. With the help of NZT, Eddie regains his inspiration and enters the upper class, but his great success also has a fatal effect: physical discomfort and uncontrollable emotions. And now Eddie can't leave the drug, which makes him into a dark field, and the killer is watching him in the dark...
