Ryan (Matt Damon) is an American paratrooper trapped behind enemy lines during world war ii. To make matters worse, all three of his brothers died in the war, and if he did, the old mother would be left alone. When the U.S. combat command learns of the situation, it decides to organize a team to go to the rescue, including captain miller (Tom Hanks) and translator urben (Jererry Davies). However, the enemy is dangerous, and they deal with death at any time along the way. They wondered if it was worth risking the lives of eight people to save one. All the way to find Ryan, for this rescue action, some dissatisfaction, some enthusiasm, some curiosity. Everyone smelled the breath of death again and again, Ryan's rescue paid a heavy price.
