Jack (Dennis Quaid), an American climatologist, believes that the greenhouse effect is causing a catastrophe on earth, and that the melting of the arctic ice will return the earth to an ice age. It was too late. Hurricanes, hail, floods, melting icebergs, extreme cold. The United States government organized the evacuation of people from 30 degrees north to the equator. To make matters worse, jack's son, trapped in a Manhattan library, burns books for a fire to keep his body warm. How could anyone escape the catastrophe? When will the frozen earth thaw?
