Lauer bergman (al pacino) is the showrunner on CBS '" 60 minutes "and has always worked closely with respected host mike Wallace (Christopher plummer). Joffrey wigan (Russell crowe) has just been fired from his job at a big tobacco company. Bergman received a report that cigarettes made by tobacco companies were harmful to humans. He went to wigan to translate it. From then on, however, wigan felt that someone was following him and threatening his family. The tobacco company reminded wigan of his non-disclosure agreement that he would not be able to release any research on cigarette manufacturing to the public. Wigan didn't want to lose his health insurance and all that, but his conscience was on the line. He eventually decided to announce it to the outside world, even if it violated the confidentiality agreement. He recorded an episode of "60 minutes" with bergman before heading to Mississippi to testify against the tobacco company.However, the tobacco company applied for a gag order much sooner than he did, his wife left with two daughters, and "60 minutes" was banned by CBS. All this comes at a heavy price. Wigan and bergman became the lone warriors, facing justice and bravery in their hearts, and sticking to it.
