John (Richard Gere) is facing a classic mid-life crisis: even with a happy family and a decent career, his inner emptiness and stress multiply with age. His static life needs some kind of catalyst to reawaken his inner passion.Every time he passes by the dance studio, John sees Paulina (Jennifer Lopez), the dance teacher. Her beautiful and slightly mysterious charisma, coupled with John's inner anticipation of some sort of life change, finally brings him to the dance classes inside. He signs up for social dance training here, but disappointingly the teacher is not Paulina. To make matters worse, John is an awkward dancer and doesn't seem to be dance material...
