This is a story about social anxiety and emotional turmoil. Living in a coastal town in Oregon, Fran's office routine was utterly dull; occasionally eavesdropping on coworkers' conversations, occasionally daydreaming, occasionally pondering the meaning of death. Her self-imposed isolation made her seem like a ghost haunting the world. Until Robert, a new colleague, arrives. His kindness and affection disrupt her solitary tranquility. Each conversation, every spark, unsettles her nerves. Yet the only obstacle between them is Fran herself. With poetic and serene strokes, the film sketches a unique portrait of love, self-identity, and the way we perceive the world.
