The story takes place in America in 1692, in the middle of a small town called Salem, where there is a group of simple-minded, if not a little ignorant, villagers. Abigail (Samantha Colley), the pastor's niece, falls in love with a man named Proctor, who is already married, and the relationship quickly falls apart when Proctor's wife, Elizabeth, finds out. Word of Abigail's failed romance spreads through the town, and she is ridiculed and taunted by her peers. Angry and ashamed, Abigail performs a cursing ritual in the forest, cursing Elizabeth. The ritual is witnessed by Reverend Parris, who happens to be passing by, and although he doesn't get a good look at who exactly is performing the ritual, word of the presence of witches in the village soon spreads and the whole town is thrown into a panic...
