After the hot summer, the leaves on the branches turn red. Squirrels and raccoons in Central Park may face an unprecedented famine as they find themselves short of winter nuts. Sally the Squirrel (Will Arnett) and Andy the Squirrel (Katherine Heigl) are sent in search of nuts. They plan to loot a nut cart, which ends up causing mayhem and a fire that destroys the nuts in their hands. After that, Seeley is exiled, followed only by his mouse friend Buddy (Robert Tinkler). Andy, on the other hand, and his feel-good companion Gleeson embark on a quest to find nuts. Andy and Sally are eventually reunited at a well-stocked nut store, where the man behind the scenes turns out to be a notorious, nefarious criminal.
