"The Biederman Comet is hurtling towards Earth, dealing a fatal blow to humanity. The authorities act urgently and work out the best solution - astronaut Tanner (Robert Duvall) flies the Miser spacecraft to the Comet and places a pre-prepared nuclear bomb on top of the Comet to detonate it, causing it to Tanner heroically completes his mission. Tanner heroically completes his mission, but finds that it does not have the desired effect. The comet shattered into two parts, one large and one small, inching closer to Earth.The authorities took swift and final action to save some of Earth's species, including humans, with the "Noah's Ark" project. This is a secret underground sanctuary where only a few people can escape the catastrophe and rebuild the world when it is over. The smaller part of the comet has already crashed into the Earth, causing landslides and apocalyptic scenes. The following large comets will bring more destruction to the planet than anyone could have imagined, and the countdown is on for humanity to save the day.
