The vast, wild savannah of South Africa. At night, a lost cheetah cub stumbles onto the highway. Fortunately, Peter (Campbell Scott) and his son save him. When the father and son bring the cub home, Zane (Alex Michaeletos) is still holding his cub tight, and he finally has a friend to grow up with. He named the cub Duma. But as Duma grows older, Zane must return his animal friend to nature. So he took Duma all over South Africa alone. The wild land of South Africa is full of crises, African lions lurking, crocodiles hiding in the river, and the mysterious tramp who tries to catch Duma for money. Thus began Zane and Duma's great adventure. After much trouble, Zane finally got Duma back into the wild. But at the end of the journey, Zane and Duma were supposed to say goodbye.
