Captain Whip Whitaker (Denzel Washington) pilots Flight 227 out of Orlando. But while traveling through the clouds, the plane has an unforeseen malfunction. In an emergency, the experienced Veep makes a forced landing in a clearing in front of a small church. Miraculously, Veep was able to control the plane and get everyone back to the ground safely. Vip became a national hero after the accident. However, the FAA launched an investigation into the accident and found that the truth behind the accident was actually related to Vip's drug and alcohol abuse. Will the hero or the prisoner be able to maintain his image as a hero?
