John's father, Frank (Dennis Quaid), died 30 years ago during a firefighting operation. Once, looking through his father's belongings, John (James Caviezel) discovers an old radio that his father used 30 years ago. While casually flipping through the bands, he surprisingly hooks up with a young man named Frank. After a long conversation throughout the night, John determines that time and space has been misplaced and that this Frank is his father from 30 years ago.John was so excited that he successfully helped his father escape the disaster 30 years ago. When he woke up with a start, he was surprised to find his gray-haired father in a picture frame, and he knew he had succeeded. However, what was unexpected was that everything in history was rewritten. John's saved his father, while his mother died in a serial murder case years ago. When John contacts his father again via radio from 30 years ago with the intention of getting him to stop his mother's murder, he accidentally becomes a suspect again!
