When their neighbour Mr Laurence heard about it, he prepared a rich dinner for the lovely little women.Lawrence's grandson Laurie became good friends with Joe and became a member of the marge family. His governess, John, falls in love with Meg, Beth catches scarlet fever while caring for a sick neighbor's child, and at the worst of times, her mother returns from Washington to care for her injured father, bringing him back with her, and the family reunites.Four years later, Meg and John finally tied the knot. Laurie, a college graduate, proposed to Joe, but he was rejected. He left home in anger and traveled to Europe. However, at this time, the news came that Beth was dying, and Beth had left everyone before she arrived home.Disheartened, Joe goes to New York and meets the one in her life.
