Eight years after his death, the highly anticipated documentary, made on special videotapes at the tribeca film festival in New York this spring, breaks down the different points in the short life of Lee(as McQueen was known to friends and family) and offers a glimpse into the rich and winding heart of a generation of prodigies. From the average working family in the east end of London to the top shows in Paris and London, he was a standard-bearer of a time when pop culture was being reshaped by his rebel talent. But under the halo and fame, the long oppression of depression and the death of relatives one after another, also let him in the world's most crowded crowded center, like a roller coaster dive high-speed fall lonely.
