Five juvenile delinquents are doing community service when an oversized hailstorm suddenly falls, and just as they rush back to the community service center, the five and their probation officer are struck by lightning. The five then discover strange changes in them; tough-as-nails Kelly (Lauren Socha Lauren Socha) can hear other people's thoughts; disgraced jock Cortez (Nathan Stewart-Jarrett Nathan Stewart-Jarrett) discovers that he can turn back the clock when he regrets it; and party girl Alyssa (Antonia Antonia Thomas), anyone who touches her falls into intense sexual need; shy Simon (Iwan Rheon) can be invisible; and smug Nathan (Robert Sheehan) is disappointed to find himself as if he has no powers. They are pleasantly surprised, and more than anything else, puzzled and distressed, and what is the point of God giving them these superpowers? Is it to punish evil doers? Or to change the sick society?
