L.S. lowry is one of the greatest British national painters of the 20th century. But early art critics derided his paintings as children's because his characters, with their large heads and thin bodies, were known as "match men". Although lowry's mother, lady Elizabeth, obstructed his artistic career all his life, lowry owes much of his success as a painter to her. After his father's death, lowry took care of his sick mother in bed, waiting for her to fall asleep before he began painting in the attic. While the depressed and unhappy Elizabeth talks about her dissatisfaction and disappointment with her son, lowry spends his life searching for his mother's approval, both in his life and in his paintings. The film is directed by Adrian, former director of the renowned royal Shakespeare theatre. Noble directs, casting best actor timothy sibb as the great painter, and best actress Vanessa legree as the controlling mother. Two superb acting, acting live this pair of irony but with humor mother and son.
