The film is set in a suburban fantasy world of elves, trolls, and souls, where unicorns move through trash cans like candy-striped opossums. The film provides the premise that magic is real, but it has long been forgotten and replaced by modern technology. Two teenage brothers, whose father had died before they were old enough, decided to enter the fantasy world and spend one last magical day with their father.
