Oscar (James Franco), a circus magician with only a few tricks up his sleeve, is inadvertently transported by a tornado from dusty Kansas City to the magical land of Oz. The inhabitants of Oz believe him to be the legendary Grand Wizard who has fallen from the sky and pray that he will defeat the vicious Wicked Witch and save Oz, but the nefarious Oscar sees the situation as a perfect opportunity to make a fortune.The three witches who claim to be the guardians of Oz, Sedora (Mila Kunis), Enola (Rachel Weisz) and Glinda (Michelle Williams), each have their own suspicions about Oscar's identity. When the forces of darkness come crashing down and Oscar is forced into the fray, he realizes that he must look into the eyes of these beautiful witches and see if they are good or evil, friend or foe, or all good will be lost. Oscar decides to take on the Wicked Witch, but how can his own magic tricks stand up to the Witch's powerful and evil magic? And what will happen to the future of Oz?
