Will Roman (James Franco) has been experimenting with a genetic drug called the Cure in order to bring his alzheimer's father back to life. While the company had lost confidence, Will continued to complete the experiment at home and succeeded with a gorilla named Caesar. With the help of primatologist Carolyn (Freida Pinto), Will discovers that Caesar's intelligence has greatly improved. However, the human society has never been able to accept the extremely intelligent Caesar, Caesar was sent to the gorilla care.
