The story takes place in a mega-corporation called Lumont, where a new technology called memory-slicing is being experimented with, whereby employees undergoing the procedure undergo a personality-splitting operation that creates a corporate persona as well as an everyday persona. This bold experiment in ‘work-life balance’ is met with scepticism. Employee Mark finds himself at the centre of a mystery that forces him to confront the nature of his work and his ego.In the second season, Mark and his friends learn the horrific consequences of cutting their memories, leading them down an even more painful path.
