This year (2008), it entered its 10th season.Stargate is an ancient and advanced alien technology that teleports matter across the universe using wormholes that distort time and space. Project Stargate, code-named Area 52, is commanded by Major General George Harmon, reporting directly to the President. Located 28 stories underground beneath norAD's headquarters in Cheyenne Mountain, Colorado, the base was carved out during the Cold War to protect against nuclear warfare. There are currently 25 SG teams under the command.
