At sundance international film festival, a film called Tangerine (Tangerine) received a lot of attention. The film's novel theme is about transgender prostitutes who work in less glamorous corners of Hollywood. The character is cold, funny and has a personality that never lets people bully. Most surprising of all, though, is that the film's director, Sean Baker, gave up his professional filmmaking gear for the iPhone 5s. Many amateur filmmakers use the iPhone to record movies, but Tangerine was the first step in using the iPhone entirely to shoot films that were shown at the sundance film festival. Baker USES the iPhone 5s to shoot video and the $8 video app FilmicPro. Baker said he chose the iPhone because of his limited budget. Of course, there are advantages to using the iPhone, such as not having to buy a film license from Los Angeles city hall.
