Norris Ellis, visiting his long-lost brother tetro (Vincent Gallo). Tetro's girlfriend, psychiatrist Miranda (Maribel Verdu), takes care of benny, but the emotional disorder of tetro is hot and cold to his brother, and forbids him to talk about anything related to the family. Benny discovers the manuscript of tetro's unfinished play, puts it into writing, and adds it to the ending for unauthorized publication, which is praised for being "alone" with tetro's anti-purpose literary critics (Carmen Maura). Furious, tetro finally agreed to take the company to a "separate" patagonian theater festival, but disappeared halfway through. Family secrets, past love and hate, are on the verge of breaking out in the spotlight.
