After escaping from the planet in the first episode, because of his status as a murderer on the run, Riddick (Van Diesel Vin Diesel) is constantly traveling from planet to planet in order to constantly evade bounty hunters and get away from his pursuers. The entire universe, meanwhile, is shrouded in dark terror at this point. A ruler named Lauder Marshall (Colm Feore) is invading the universe under the banner of religion.
