The three brothers have not spoken to each other for a year since their father's funeral. The eldest, Francis (Owen Wilson), plans an elaborate trip to India, telling his brothers it's about rediscovering himself and connecting with each other. Though not keen on the trip, Peter (Adrien Brody) and Jack (Jason Schwartzman), who are trying to escape their own terrible lives, agree to Francis' plan. The three brothers embark on a hilarious luxury train journey across India, collecting strange mementos from all over the place. Finally, after hooking up with a female conductor, letting go of a souvenir cobra and getting into a fight on the train, they are thrown out of the train by the conductor, who has had enough, along with all their luggage. Although all out of Francis control, but this plan of change but brothers three more close to the real purpose of this trip...
