The film focuses on the thousands of years before the crystal broke, creating two races: the terrifying Skeksis, who use the remaining power of the crystal to sustain themselves; A group of kind, gentle wizards called Mystics. The cruel Skeksis are committed to immortality, and Jen and Kira, the last two survivors of the Gelfling race, must embark on an adventure with the last remaining fragments of the crystal to repair it and avoid the scourge that will destroy their world. The series will follow three young Gelflings who discover a terrible secret that inspires an uprising against a tyrannical emperor.
