A movie adaptation of HBO's hit show The Sopranos is coming out, with New Line working on a prequel film called The Many Saints of Newark. Original screenwriter and executive producer David Chase and screenwriter Lawrence Connor wrote the screenplay, and David Chase will produce the new movie. The film is set in the violent Newark of the 1960s, where gang warfare took place. The series aired from 1999 to 2007 and won 21 Emmys and five Golden Globes for six seasons. Original stars James Gandolfini and Frank Vincent died in 2013 and last year. A number of characters familiar to fans of the original series will appear on the big screen.
