1942 the 1st Marine Division captured the Japanese airfield on Guadalcanal, marking the start of the strategic counteroffensive against Japan in the Pacific War. Three Marines, Lecky, Slidge and Baslon, fought in the Pacific in the worst war of world War II. In the Pacific, the Japanese army was arrogant and launched a fierce offensive against American forces, including many suicide attacks. From the terrible battles of Guadalcanal, Cape Gloucester, the Jungle, Peleliu, Iwo Jima and Okinawa. Legge (James Badge Dale), Sledge (Joseph Mazzello) and Basron (Jon Seda) witness the Japanese army's final defeat and see their comrades die in the tragic battle. HBO paid $223 million for the most expensive WORLD War II show, and it's the spielberg/Hanks sequel to "Band of Brothers."
