FBI agent Fox Mulder (David Duchovny) has experienced a mysterious childhood kidnapping case, his sister Samantha was abducted in her sleep by aliens, has not been found. Mulder has since devoted himself to the study of mysteries and is in charge of the X-Files unit at FBI headquarters. Mulder is a hard man to handle. FBI officials bring in Dana Scully (Gillian Anderson), a female agent from the FBI Academy, ostensibly to help mulder, but in the hope that the scientific, rational agent will keep mulder in check. The collaboration between the two was not ideal at first, and their completely different thinking patterns constantly led to the outbreak of arguments.
