The storyline depicts a famous American rock singer Nicky Rae who is invited to perform in East Germany and meets Hilary, the daughter of a scientist Freimann. After learning that Freimann is imprisoned in a prison for manufacturing a lethal weapon, he decides to help her to rescue her father by hijacking the prison and is thus unwittingly caught up in an espionage case. The movie is worth watching for its extreme exaggeration of Hitchcockian spy action, its deep satire on xenophobia, and its many laugh-out-loud moments and scenes.
