"Generation Kill" is a TV miniseries based on the 2003 Iraq war, adapted from Evan Wright's book of the same name. The seven-hour series, which will air on HBO in July 2008, will be produced by David Simon, Ed Burns, Nina k. Noble, Andrea Calderwood, George Faber and Charles Pattinson.The novel of the same name (2004) is an autobiography written by rolling stone reporter Evan Wright based on his own experiences as a reporter deep in a war zone, following the first expeditionary force of the United States Marine corps in the 2003 Iraq war. His account of Marine life was first published in three issues in the fall of 2003 by rolling stone magazine. The series begins with "the killer elite," which won the national magazine award for best reporting in 2004.
