Chris Faraday (Mark Wahlberg), once an all-powerful smuggler, is now golden, living a secluded life with his wife Kate (Kate Beckinsale) and two sons. That is, until the day Kate's younger brother, Andy, botches a drug deal and the ruthless boss, Tim Briggs (Giovanni Ribisi), threatens to make them pay dearly. In order to help Andy pay off his debt, Chris has to go back into business, gathering his old partners Sebastian Albini (Ben Foster) and Danny Rymer (Lukas Haas) and deciding to travel to Panama to smuggle counterfeit money. On the way, they coincidentally run into Chris's father's enemy, the Captain (J.K. Simmons), who has even received favors from his boss to spy on Chris to complete the mission. Meanwhile, at home, Kate and her sons are threatened by the assassin and even offended by Ebony. Faced with a change of plans, a boss on his tail, the police on his trail and the safety of his wife and children at home, will Chris be able to come up with three heads and six arms to save the day?
