IRA leader Bobby Sands (Michael Fassbender) is arrested for leading a march against the authorities. In Metz prison, he still hasn't given up the fight. The prison, all six square meters of closed cells, houses IRA prisoners who are naked and refuse to wear prison clothes as a way to fight against Margaret Thatcher's decree to deprive prisoners of their rights. They pass messages by covering the gutter under the warped door with filthy food and excrement.Through a hoodwinked radio, the prisoners were able to keep up with news of the IRA's struggle against the British government.
