In the 1950s, the status of Women in the United States appeared to have improved significantly, but in prestigious women's colleges like Wesley, students were still taught with a focus on the future of good marriage. They were not encouraged to acquire knowledge of their own interest or to develop their psychological qualities. Julia Roberts plays the role of Beautiful and mature Catherine (Julia Roberts) graduated from college, with ideals and enthusiasm came to the school as an art history teacher, because they want to spread the seeds of freedom to the wall.However, Catherine soon wins the hearts of her students because she is funny, straightforward, enthusiastic and knowledgeable.
