Susan Murphy (Reese Witherspoon), a beautiful girl living in a small town in California, is about to enter into marriage with her beloved boyfriend Derek Dilt (Paul Rudd). But at this crucial moment, she is first hit on the head by a meteorite, and then her whole body glows and turns into a tall, snowy-haired giant. Her transformation scares away her friends and family, and a group of heavily armed and mysterious men capture her and imprison her. Susan is taken by the military to a secret base in Area 52 with monsters from all corners of the earth called scientists to study.Meanwhile, a UFO harboring evil forces is approaching the Earth at great speed, and the alien it brings with it, Galexaha (voiced by Rainn Wilson), threatens to destroy the Earth and the human race. The humans fight back, but their weapons are defeated by the Galeksaha. With the Earth at stake, the people pin their fate on Susan and her monster friends...
