Rachel (Kate Beckinsale), a female journalist, gets a piece of information from a source that involves a rather disgraceful act by the government. The story was published with the support of husband Ray (David Schwimmer). The government eventually puts Rachel in the dock for leaking state secrets, led by an overconfident prosecutor named Parton (Matt Dillon). In court, faced with a series of pressing questions from Parton, Rachel calmly narrated the whole story, and the public began to tilt the balance in Favor of Rachel. However, Aaron insisted that Rachel must tell the source of the information, and Rachel gradually fell into a dilemma. Alan begins to put pressure on the public and on Rachel's family, and Ray gradually succumbs to the pressure of the state and suggests that Rachel give in. But Rachel expresses her insistence to Ray that the truth comes first.
