In the ordinary life of the girl Wendy (Michelle Williams), Lucy the dog is her best and most trusted friend. Wendy can easily talk to Lucy about her troubles that she can't share with her parents. In order to make money, Wendy decides to spend her summer vacation working in a factory in Alaska. With Lucy, Wendy drives a beat-up used car.Unexpectedly, just arrived in Oregon, the car is scrapped, in the desolate town, penniless Wendy not only to find a way for herself, but also to support Lucy. In desperation, Wendy had to go into the theft, inexperienced she was no doubt caught. After a critical education at the police station, Wendy is alarmed to find Lucy missing, and when she and Lucy meet again, Lucy has a rich new owner.
