Ginsburg's father was a first-generation American immigrant and his mother was a second-generation immigrant. They taught their daughter the concept of independence and self-reliance. Ginsburg grew up hardworking and studious. After entering Harvard Law School, she met her husband, Martin. Ginsburg went on to become a prominent feminist lawyer and has made outstanding contributions to the fight for equal rights to work, education and development for women in the United States. Her husband has been very supportive of her career. The couple worked side by side on their careers, for the public good, and raised their older children. Ginsburg was appointed to the U.S. federal court by Clinton in 1993. During the Trump era, Ginsburg, who has a neutral stance, was seen as a beacon of impartiality and fairness. Through the hardships of her husband's cancer and her own two bouts with cancer, Ginsburg remained steadfast in her position and never backed down. In contemporary America Ginsburg is not only a legal legend, but also a popular culture icon. Young people wear her head on their T-shirts, carry her on their bags, and even have her tattooed on their bodies. Her spirit of hard work and perseverance for justice has crossed borders and influenced the world.
