Sam (Billy Crudup ) is a successful advertising agency president, an accident took his son Josh (Miles Heizer) life, this sudden blow let Sam into despair, he gave up everything he had, hiding in his sailboat, daily living by alcohol.By chance, Sam accidentally finds a few songs written by Josh before his death. The songs bring Sam back to the good old days when father and son were crazy about music together. Sam decided to keep Josh's life alive in music, he learned the songs written by his son and sang them in the bar. Sam's sincere singing voice attracts a young man named Quentin (Anton Yelchin), and the two hit it off to form a band to perform Josh's songs.
