They say dogs are man's best friend, but what if there's a dog owner who's a huge asshole? If so, it's time for the Avenging Dog Alliance to assemble. Reggie (Will Ferrell) is an innocent, optimistic Border Terrier who, despite being abandoned by his scummy owner Doug (Will Forte) on the brutal streets of the big city, believes that his favorite owner would never intentionally abandon him. But when Reggie meets Bug (Jamie Foxx), a Boston Terrier who swears all the time and speaks like a firecracker, a freedom-loving stray who believes that only a stupid dog needs an owner, Reggie finally realizes that his owner, Doug, has been abusing him all along, and that Doug is a heartless scumbag. In order to get revenge on such a heartless dog owner, Reggie, Bug, and Bug's Maji - Maggie (voiced by Ira Fischer), an ice-smart Australian Shepherd whose owner has adopted another puppy - and Hunter (voiced by Randall Park), a Great Dane suffering from anxiety. Hunter (Randall Park), a Great Dane who suffers from anxiety and is always stressed out because he's an emotional support dog. They form a coalition of vengeful dogs, brainstorm a perfect revenge plan, and embark on an epic adventure to help Reggie find his way back home and make Doug pay by forcing him to bite off his favorite part of his body!
