Seth (Jonah Hill) and Evan (Michael Cera) are a pair of socially awkward, very different best friends who are about to graduate from high school and are both anxious and fearful of college life without each other.One weekend, their "luck" strikes when they receive an invitation to a dance hosted almost exclusively by pretty girls, on the condition that they provide all the alcohol needed for the event. They're joined by their obnoxious friend Fergie (Christopher Mientz Price), who gets himself a fake ID and a stupid pseudonym like "Mike Raven".At the ball, Seth sets his sights on Jules, the organiser of the ball, Evan falls for Becca, a girl he takes maths lessons with, and Fergie goes for the exciting Nicola.But a series of unfortunate coincidences takes the three to an unfamiliar place and brings them into conflict with officers Slater and Michaels. For the three lads, who are about to graduate from high school, it may be one of the most frightening and humbling nights they've ever experienced, and yet, a night they'll remember for the rest of their lives.
