It's a world outside of reality that has no idea what a lie is, where people work and live normally, except that everything everyone tells is the truth. A young man, Mark (Ricky Gervais), who has just experienced unemployment, lost his love, and is poor, one day penetrates this secret - he uses a lie to increase the money in his account, but people who have never seen a lie believe him completely. Getting a taste of the secret, Mark begins to capitalize on it, and he starts to lie non-stop and use it to get whatever he wants. As Mark's lies got more and more outrageous, more and more people believed him, making things more and more out of control. As Mark realizes that the woman he loves, Jennifer (Jennifer Garner), is not what he wants, and that the only way to get love is to be truthful...
