Ivy (Jodie Comer) has a tragic past, having been imprisoned in a cellar for thirteen years. After thirteen years, Ivy finally escapes and calls the police for help. Elliott (Richard Rankin) and his partner Lisa (Valene Kane) take on the case and try to get more clues out of Ivy, however, Ivy's testimony still lacks the strongest support, which is hard evidence.In addition to dealing with police questioning, Ivy must face her own darkness, the distortions and injustices of society, and most importantly, she doesn't know how to return to her family after a long absence. The disappearance of a ten-year-old girl named Phoebe (Isabel Shanahan) attracts the attention of the police, and witnesses point the finger at a man named Mark (Peter McDonald).
