The BBC version of Wieland is the first time the Swedish novel has been adapted into an English-language TV series. But the story is still set in Ystad, Sweden. And the crew traveled to Sweden to finish filming. The main character is Kenneth Branagh (who played Sir Oliver in My Week with Monroe, Professor Giedroyd Lohart, the Defense Against the Dark Arts teacher in Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets, and is also the director of Thor).
