The story takes place in 1805, when Count Pierre (Paul Dano) and his daughter Helen (Tuppence Middleton) get married. However, they don't agree with each other, so the married life is not very happy. Andre (James Norton), Pierre's best friend, accidentally meets a beautiful lady named Natasha (Lily James). They fall in love at first sight and are soon together.After Andre returned to the military service, Helen's younger brother Anatole (Callum Turner) covet Natasha's beauty, take advantage of the situation, with a lie to deceive Natasha's pure mind, Anatole's seduction and instigation, Natasha decided to elope with him.
