Late at night at 12:00 p.m., Jack Bauer (Kiefer Sutherland), the head of the U.S. Counter-Terrorism Unit in Los Angeles, receives a call from his colleague, Nina Myers (Sarah Clarke), telling him to come back to the office with all due haste because intelligence indicates. The first black presidential candidate, Senator David Pellmer (Dennis Haysbert), is being threatened with assassination and there may be a mole inside CTU. So Jack needs to track down the assassin to protect the presidential candidate and find out who the mole is in these next 24 hours. Meanwhile, Jack's daughter Kim (Elisha Cuthbert) sneaks out of the house to go to a party with her girlfriend Jenny, but doesn't want to be taken hostage. In order to find their daughter, Terry (Elisha Cuthbert) and Jenny's father have to go off on their own to find her. However, it turns out that their daughter's kidnapping was planned by terrorists, and Terry's wife, who is searching for her daughter, is also kidnapped by the terrorists. In order to save the lives of his wife and daughter, Jack is forced to follow the orders of the leader, Gerns (Michael Massee). Over the next few hours, Jack is forced to do everything in his power to keep his wife and daughter safe while also protecting presidential candidate Piper...
