Jim (Bill Pullman) and Abo (Chris Pine) are father and son, who are very different from each other. Although they often disagree with each other in life, they also have a lot of wisdom. Jim and Abou wanted to make a wine called Chardonnay to compete with the producers of southern France.Stephen (Alan Rickman) is a wine merchant who travels in search of wines to save his ailing winery. Stephen discovers Abou's chardonnay and is determined to take it into his possession, but his arrogant attitude annoys Jim. Behind his father's back, Abneh sends two chardonnays to Steven's wine tasting. Meanwhile, Jim is shocked to find that the wine he has made has changed color, which means that all he has now is a worthless jar of sour water. In desperation, Jim decides to destroy all the wine.
