Giacomo Casanova (Heath Ledger) is a famous Venetian lothario whose wit and romance seem irresistible to every woman, from a countess to an ascetic nun. Finally, his debauchery angered the religious bureau, almost hanged after being arrested, fortunately the friend appeared in time to pull the raging waves. Friends warned Casanova that if he did not find a decent woman to marry, he would be banished from Venice. When Casanova was a child, his mother left him and promised to reunite with him in Venice, a promise he always kept. In order to wait for his mother, he had to stay in Venice, even with the shackles of marriage. By chance, Casanova meets Francesca (Sienna Miller). Frans Sica's avant-garde, poetical and egalitarian appeal was fatal to Casanova, who was used to shallower women. But on the one hand, both of them have unfulfilled engagements.
